  2. Lady Thatcher must have been under pressure by this stage, especially looking at the faces of her front bench, and yet she put on a fearless performance. She is perfectly correct: who wants to create wealth here when so much has to be immediately relinquished? Therefore the poor just get poorer. Even I understand this, a comment I direct to the Member of Parliament for North Southwark and Bermondsey, the Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats, the Rt. Hon. Simon Hughes MP.

    It was indeed. See, for example, here.

    I remember hearing the "I'm enjoying this" clip at the time - probably on Radio 4 News. It was all very sad. She put on a brave face, but she must have been heart-broken.
